In the last decade, the emergence of rented houses creates the question of their aesthetic. As the owners won’t live there, how to create an identity and to give a soul to a place where people will only stay for a couple of days our weeks. Located in the wild tropical context of the province of Guanacaste near Villareal, this refined vacation house is formed with a singular L-shape distribution to unify the three “connected to nature” bedrooms and the living space which live with the cylces of the sun. This simple shape give the inhabitant a functional relation between the diferent living spaces. The relation to the luxurious vegetation context has been the main factor to design and orient the project. The entrance of the house is a silent and minimalist facade surrounded by an desertic garden with cactus, rocks and pebbles who contrast with the prolific tropical back garden. All the views converge to an infinite large swimming pool which reflects the moving trees around. The facade membrane with louvers create a direct connection which open and close to give privacy at night and a full nature connection during the day. The steel structure combined with the concrete finish of the walls creates part of the urban confort feeling in the middle of this oasis of nature were inhabitants can live in the middle of nature having a sense of connection and respect.
